Will My Allbirds Stretch?

Great question!

If your Wool shoes are a bit snug to start, you can expect them to stretch about a quarter inch after a few weeks of wear.

In contrast, your Tree shoes will likely retain their original shape.

Should I size up or down in Allbirds?

Allbirds fit true to size for most customers. If you have wide feet or are between sizes, we suggest you size up for all styles except our Tree Runner (size down for those).

Are Allbirds good for wide feet?

I have a wide foot; will Allbirds fit well? Our shoes are all medium width, but we have found that many customers with wider feet are able to find a comfortable fit due to the forgiving nature of our materials. The Wool collection will stretch naturally over time, while the Tree collection is flexible and form-fitting!

Will sneakers stretch?

Most shoe salespeople will try to convince you that the shoe will stretch – this is somewhat true for the width of the shoe – but there is no way a shoe can stretch in length. Don’t plan on your shoes stretching over time, that’s like buying clothes that are too small and expecting to lose weight in time to wear them.

Do you wear socks with Allbirds?

Allbirds now makes socks, its first foray out of shoes and into the basics category. Although its sneakers can be worn without socks, the company found that nearly half of its customers chose to wear socks with their pairs. It’s fitting, therefore, that Allbirds’ first non-shoe product would be the sock.
