What is the difference between standard and IMAX?
Whereas normal theatres have plain and regular screen of limited pixel resolution. The screen size difference is so much that IMAX screens are six times larger than regular theatre screens.
Do you have to wear glasses for IMAX?
No glasses are required for the standard IMAX presentation (which is the RECOMMENDED way to watch movies, might I add!) This is the same movie, with enhanced sound and scope. It truly does add to the movie-viewing experience. Glasses are required for the IMAX 3D presentations, however.

Dolby Cinema is hands down better than IMAX if only because of the laser light (better contrast) and 4K (vs Imax 2K). But Dolby Atmos is the most technologically advanced and best sounding, most accurate sound system in theaters today – period. Both Dolby and IMAX sound good.

Is IMAX 3d better than IMAX?
Not a huge fan either but IMAX 3D is miles better than RealD 3D. IMAX 3D with dual projection makes it viewable for me and it there isn’t the massive drop in luminosity like single projection 3D. Their new Laser IMAX 3D uses an entirely new type of 3D glasses that lets even more light pass thru.
