Question: How Early Should You Arrive Before A Movie?

30 minutes at least

5 minutes before the movie starts and we would have to climb over people already seated or sit separately because of the volume of people.

I like to show up 15 to 20 minutes before it starts.

How early should you show up to a movie?

For family movies likes ‘Sherlock Gnomes’ or ‘Coco’ I recommend arriving at least 15 minutes early. Families always arrive 5 minutes before the movie starts, and then there’s a massive line and you may not get great seats.

Do movie start times include previews?

The advertising pre-show runs before the published movie start time (approximately 30 minutes before the movie start time). Typically, 15–20 mins of trailers after the posted start time.

Can you take a blanket to the movies?

Yes you are allowed to bring blankets, snacks, drinks, and pillows into the movie theater!

Can you buy movie tickets early at the theater?

For most movies, you can typically purchase tickets anywhere from 1-10 days in advance. Movie theaters usually update their showtimes on Monday-Thursday for the upcoming Friday-Thursday (excluding major holidays and Wednesday releases, these are usually slightly different).
