How does it work?
When you sign up for MoviePass, you get a debit card mailed to you.
When you’re ready to see a movie, MoviePass will load that debit card with the full cost of the ticket, which you then pay the theater.
The only cost you pay is your monthly or annual fee to MoviePass.
How does the MoviePass card work?
When you’re within 150 feet of a movie theater, you can check into whatever screenings the app shows is available for your account, MoviePass loads the price of the ticket onto your card, and you simply use the card to purchase a ticket like you would with any other credit or debit card.
Is MoviePass a good deal?
When MoviePass was offering one ticket per day for $9.95, the various hoops and obstacles seemed easier to overlook. As for MoviePass, it’s still a good deal if you regularly see 2-3 movies per month and don’t mind seeing them in 2D.
How many movies can you watch with MoviePass?
MoviePass eventually dumped the all-you-can-watch plan and moved everyone over to a $9.95 monthly offering, and limited subscribers to three movies a month.
Is MoviePass going under?
According to Helios and Matheson, MoviePass was too far gone to save. MoviePass, although it had been around since 2011, generated national headlines in August 2017 when it lowered the price of its all-you-can-watch movie ticket subscription service to an astounding $9.99 a month.
