Contactless is a simple and secure way to pay for bus travel without needing cash.
All Visa and MasterCard cards displaying the contactless symbol , along with Apple Pay and Google Pay, can be used.
Unfortunately, we do not accept payments by American Express or Maestro.
Do buses accept card?
Tap to pay and you’re on your way: Brighton & Hove Buses goes contactless. No more fumbling for change or bus passes, passengers can now pay for tickets on Brighton & Hove Buses and Metrobus using contactless cards and phones. You can pay by Visa, Mastercard or with your phone using Apple or Android Pay.
Do First Bus have contactless?
First Bus passengers will be able to buy paper tickets with contactless cards from next week. Stagecoach passengers in Manchester can already buy a ticket using contactless payment – and the move follows last year’s launch of the Get Me There card to view, buy and upload tickets on trams and buses.

Can I use debit card on bus?
If you have a contactless card or device (Apple Pay, Apple watch or Android Pay), you can now use these to pay for your travel on our buses. When you get off the bus do not touch your card or device on the reader again or you may be charged for another bus journey. Contactless is only available for individual travel.
