A Reservation Against Cancellation (RAC) is a type of ticket that can be sold for travel on the Indian Railways.
A berth will be allocated to the ticket who reserves an RAC ticket if passengers who already have a confirmed ticket do not board before the train departure or get their confirmed ticket cancelled.

If a user has been issued an RAC ticket, then most likely his ticket will get confirmed by the time of chart preparation and he will get a berth. You’ll get a full berth if it shows “RAC15/CNF”.
Will RAC 41 get confirmed?
RAC passengers won’t get confirm berths! Their tickets will not be confirmed with a full-berth allocation in case of a cancellation, as is the practice now. It means, if you get an RAC status at the time of reservation, your ticket status will remain unchanged till the end of the journey.
